marks the start of Global Poverty Prayer Week. As we think
about the appalling poverty throughout the world, pray for
the poor and ask that those with the power to change their
situation will hear and obey God’s voice.

Pray
for the parish of Assington, that more and more people
there will want to go to church and learn about God.
Especially pray for the PCC this evening.
|

As
today is the national day of
Bulgaria
, pray for our
link church the
Friendship
Church
in
Russe
,
Bulgaria
. Particularly
pray for pastors Daniel and Emilia Nalbantsky, for their
health, energy and inspiration.

Pray
for First Friday Lunch Club in the Garrad Room tomorrow.
Pray for the helpers, and that it will be a special time
to meet and make friends for everyone.

Pray
for the Women’s World Day of Prayer
joint service in the
Baptist
Church
, devised by the women of
Cameroon
. Pray that
this service will encourage everyone there as we remember
that ‘we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of
witnesses to the life of faith’ (Hebrews 12:1 NLB).

getting married today.
Pray for their happiness and long life, and for
God’s Holy Spirit to fill them both.

Lent 3. Thank God for
how He is using the world-wide church to tackle poverty.
Ask that the church will reach its full potential
to eradicate it completely.

Pray
for ‘Living with Loss’ bereavement support group which
meets this evening. Pray
that everyone attending will be able to help one another
as they come to terms with their deep sadness.

Pray
for our politicians as the next General Election
approaches, that God will give them integrity and vision.
Particularly pray for Christians in politics, for
their protection and for them to have a profound
influence.

Pray
for our vicar and family, Robin and Katharine, Michael and
Matthew King. Pray
for protection and for continued inspiration and
enthusiasm in their calling.

for OLM Jo Goymour, husband Fred and Katie and Charlie.
Thank God for them.
Pray for their health, protection and continued
filling of the Holy Spirit.

for ‘Old Age & How to Live It’ information
afternoon in Village Hall today.
Pray that many people will attend, especially those
who are caring for or may have to care for the elderly,
and that it will be a really useful and helpful occasion.

Pray
for the Darby & Joan fund raising sale, with coffee,
lunch, bookstall, cakestall, bric-a-brac etc. in church
today. Pray
that it will be a huge success, very well sup-ported and
that it will raise all that is needed to fund this very
worthwhile society.

Mothering Sunday.
Pray for mothers today, especially those who find
mothering hard. Ask
God to give them all the wisdom, patience and strength
that they need. Also
pray for women who would have loved to have been mothers
but have no children.
Ask God to comfort them.

Pray for teachers from
Bures
School
visiting Czech as part of the Comenius Project, from today
until 17th. Pray
for the success of their time there, and that it will be
really helpful for
Bures
School
in the future.

Continue
to pray for the work of aid agencies in
Haiti
, for the recovery of that land and for children orphaned
by the earthquake. In
a country where there is no such thing as social security,
especially pray for the future of those who have had to
have limbs amputated because of their injuries.

St.
Patrick’s Day. Pray
for
Ireland
north and south, and for the protection of the fragile
peace there. Pray
against the enemies of reconciliation.

Pray
for the parish of Little Cornard and especially their AGM
this evening. Pray
for the future of the church there.
|

Over
200 million Christians in at least 60 countries are denied
human rights because of their faith.
Pray especially for those in prison, that they may
powerfully sense God’s presence and be courageous and
strong in all their suffering.

Pray
for the Church Barn Dance in the Village Hall this
evening. Pray
for Kate Buckle organizing it, that all the tickets are
sold and that it is huge fun for everyone.

Lent 5. Pray for all the
church services in our Benefice today, including the
Baptist
Church
. Pray
everyone will make time to attend and find that they are
spiritually renewed and refreshed.

Pray
for all the ‘secular’ activities in our churches,
including today’s ‘Take a Break’ coffee morning in
the
Baptist
Church
hall, Wednesday’s Open Door, and Sunday’s ‘Solos on
Sunday’. Ask
God to bless these times and use them to unite our
community.

Pray
for our church organist Sue Emerson.
Thank God for all that she does and ask Him to
renew and inspire her by his Holy Spirit, and to protect
her health.

Thank
God for the beauty of the countryside we are so blessed to
live in. Pray
for our farmers who work hard to produce our food, and for
all working to protect wildlife and the environment
.

Pray
for Stepping Stones pre school service this afternoon and
especially for Katharine King and Becky Amos.
Pray for a happy time for all the babes.

that we will do all we can to support local businesses,
pubs and shops.

for Holy Week that starts tomorrow, that we will find time
to pray and seek God’s presence, and think about what
Good Friday and Easter Sunday mean to us.

Palm Sunday. Almighty
and everlasting God, who in your tender love towards the
human race sent your Son our Saviour Jesus Christ to take
upon him our flesh and to suffer death upon the cross:
grant that we may follow the example of his
patience and humility, and also receive your blessing of eternal life.

Ask God to surround them with His comfort and love.
